The motto at TTS is Don’t Be An A-Hole! We thought it would be fitting to publish a weekly blog featuring an AHole of the Week! This is the first edition of this blog which is sure to be a hit because there is no shortage of A-Holes!
Congratulations to our first A-Hole of the Week: Donald Trump!
I must say, this inaugural dubious honor was won by a landslide, as there were no contenders to carry a close second place. However, before I get ahead of myself, let’s examine how we came to the unanimous decision to award Mr. Trump this obvious honor.
When referring to Senator John McCain, Mr. Trump uttered, “He’s not a war hero”… “He’s a war hero because he was captured? I like people who weren’t captured.” I refer to the great John Stewart for my retort: When back from a two-week break, Stewart, in response to Trump’s claims that Sen. John McCain is not a war hero, asked viewers a simple question regarding the presidential candidate: “What the f–k is wrong with him?” (McCain was held in captivity for over five years during the Vietnam War…where was Trump during this conflict?)
Donald Trump thinks most undocumented Mexican immigrants are rapists and criminals — “some,” he assumes, “are good people.” Some? I believe this would contradict his statement regarding his admiration for those veterans who “did not get captured”? (BTW, an undocumented Mexican is someone who risked their life to travel by land or sea with nothing but the clothes on their back and a hope for a better life while they risk everything, including life, and did not get captured).
Just how far is he willing to go to get attention? While at a campaign event in South Carolina this week, Trump decided to read out loud a phone number. Turns out, according to CBS News, it was the cellphone number of fellow GOP presidential candidate, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). Crossing the line between personal and professional? Between classy and sleezy? Between honorable and dishonorable?
His hair. Enough said.
Political ploy? Positioning? Are Americans applauding him because they want to hear what he will say next? Are Americans disgusted by him because of what he might say next? If he wins the presidential election will there be slot machines in the White House? Who knows, and quite frankly, we do not care at this point because we are celebrating his latest victory! So, Mr. Trump, take your seat on the Thrill Throne, for you are the July, 2015 A-Hole of the Week!
