Fantasy Football Week #11

Week #10 is in the books and fantasy football teams are looking forward to week #11. There is a lot to discuss this week so let’s jump right in to the action. Bye Week Teams with bye weeks are the Steelers, Browns, Saints, and Giants. This is the last week of byes. Don’t be the guy in your league that starts a player that is sitting home drinking beer on Sunday. Mismatches Panthers vs. Redskins, and Broncos vs. Bears, although the Broncos are starting to cool down. There are a lot of even matches this week that could go either way. Make sure to look at individual players against the teams that they are facing. A team may have a strong defense, but have problems ...

Week #1 Recap

The regular season is finally underway and the first week is in the books. Some of the things that happened were expected and some of the things that happened in the first week defied logic. What can a fantasy football player take away from the first week? Short answer, nothing. One week is not a proper gauge to make any rash decisions. Do not panic! As the season progresses and certainly by week six patterns will start to evolve and we can start making rational decisions based on fact and trends. After The Draft

On Saturday NFL teams had to cut down to a 53-man rooster. However that does not mean that most teams have finalized their roosters. Deals will be made throughout the week that can still impact teams significantly. This must be a horribly nerve wracking process for players on the bubble. How awful would it be to make the 53-man rooster and still be cut after the Saturday deadline. Ouch! Generally speaking most leagues have probably completed their drafts by this point in the season. However, don’t think for a second that you are done looking at the league and how the transactions over the next couple of days will affect your fantasy team. A player that gets cut from one team, may get picked up ...

Educated Drafting

Tis the season for fantasy football drafting. At this point in the preseason you have already drafted or for the bulk of us you will be drafting very soon. I am sure you are bombarded with stats and articles about whom to draft and who not to draft. Mainly what you are looking at are history or predictions and neither of them are really worth the paper they are written on. Just because a player scored a lot of fantasy points last year doesn’t mean they will score a lot of points this year. Predictions are great, but they are really just educated guesses. To add injury to insult in a draft you will not get all the players you are hoping to add to ...
